The Artist: Jill Crowther
I am an artist living and working from my studio in the Herefordshire countryside. I create work either mixed media, watercolours, acrylics, pastels and oils. My main body of work takes inspiration from nature.
I loved art at school and it has always been a great passion of mine. However, after leaving school I began a career in banking, whilst honing my skills by undertaking various classes, attending regular courses and one off workshops, in art, finally in 2016 I decided to pursue a career as an Artist.
My work is contemporary in style, quite graphic at times and very experimental. I love working with colour and texture and i experiment with different media all the time. I have been told many times that my work resembles textile design. I like to have fun and don’t take myself too seriously and I like to think this shows in my work.
My work is mostly Semi-Abstract sometimes pure Abstract and occasionally Representational, including landscapes and the occasional still life. I’m inspired by everything around me and very much like to keep an open mind when putting paint to canvas.

My work is available for purchase, some of which may not appear on this website, so please contact me if you are interested.
These are available as original pieces, as reproduced prints or on a selection of tote-bags, cushions, and greetings cards. I also often showcase and sell my work at many events and exhibitions.
For commission pieces, please contact me. I can create stunning original artwork at affordable and realistic prices.
As an example, I've had a commission for a customer who had memories of sunflowers in France from her frequent holidays there and asked me to create a piece. I produced a field full of sunflowers in acrylic, which she now proudly displays in her living room as a constant reminder of her breaks away.

Expressive Flower Painting with Jill Crowther
Here is a video of an expressive flower painting I brought to life using paints, inks and embellish gel.
The final piece, featuring irises, can be described as expressive, dream-like and relaxed. I hope you enjoy this look into my creative process.
